The Struggle against Sin
The person who wishes to live the Radical Catholic Life must put all his might into the struggle against sin. Sin keeps us from deeper intimacy with Jesus and so we must fight sin in our lives unto our last breath. The Radical Catholic has identified or is working to identify the “Besetting Sins” in his life so he can uproot what is not of Christ and embrace Jesus more fully. This is not just a casual endeavor. The Radical Catholic is tenaciously and methodically fighting sin on a daily basis and he is checking his progress and renewing his goals often. The Radical Catholic works to make every confession like it could be his last. He goes to confession often and lays his sins at the feet of Jesus and tries with all his might to leave them there.
Striving for intimacy with God
The Radical Catholic yearsn for Intimacy with Jesus Christ. Primarily through Holy Communion and Deep communication in prayer. Intimacy in the Eucharist comes through preparing for and entering more fully in to the Mass. Holy Communion should be the priority of our life and all other events and happenings should be subjected to the Mass. The Radical Catholic also strives for intimate communication in daily prayer. This communication can only come in Holy Silence. It is there in that Holy Silence that we have heart to heart communication with Jesus. It is there that we go to Him with questions and to hear the messages he has for us. It is in this Silence that we become Prophets.
Fierce Devotion to Jesus
The Radical Catholic is fiercely devoted to Jesus Christ. He uses his life to burn out for Jesus. He brings other people into this relationship. He prepares to faithfully follow Jesus even unto death. The Radical Catholic strives to decrease while Jesus increases.
