I once read that the Great Philosopher Soren Kierkegaard said that everyone in this world is either a Poet or a Hero. The Poet’s job is to proclaim the mighty deeds of the Heroes for all generations. The Poet must take care to transmit the story in a way that is appealing and understandable. This great Philosopher also said that as Christians we are all Poets who should be proclaiming the mighty deeds of our Hero Jesus Christ.There is poetry being written through each of our lives. When we cooperate with and surrender to God’s holy will then God works his mighty deed of redemption and salvation in our hearts. He vanquishes evil and sin and rescues us from the grips of hell. What has your hero done in your life? What is he doing? Its not just people who were liberated from drugs or sex or violence that have a poem or a story. There are poems about raging battles and there are also poems about small tiny saplings growing slowly and cautiously. These are surely different but neither poem is less beautiful.
The world needs to know Jesus. We are the only ones who will tell the world the great poem about our hero. If you do not feel a desperate urge to communicate Jesus to the world then you must ask yourself the question , “What is God doing in my life?”
We have an answer to all the worlds problems. We need to tell the world our poem about our hero Jesus Christ. We are all called to be Poets and to tell the poem that only we can. The world longs for this.
To all swift things for swiftness did I sue;
Clung to the whistling mane of every wind.
But whether they swept, smoothly fleet,
The long savannahs of the blue;
Or whether, Thunder-driven,
They clanged His chariot ‘thwart a heaven,
Plashy with flying lightnings round the spurn o’ their feet--
Fear wist not to evade as Love wist to pursue.
Still with unhurrying chase,
And unperturbed pace,
Deliberate speed, majestic instancy,
Came on the following Feet,
And a Voice above their beat--
Naught shelters thee who will not shelter me…
